The same action led to many reactions, depending on what I was doing.
When I was reading:
“I’m glad that he left it open. I have some nice natural light. I hope he doesn’t close it.”
When I was sleeping:
“Man, it’s bright and blinding.”
When I woke up:
“Wow, it’s such a nice scene, with the strong sunlight illuminating his face. And it being the only source of light in the cabin.”
When the sun was setting:
“Thanks to him, I got to see the cotton candy sunset.”
And, yes. He slept through the flight from SIN – ICN, with the window shade open.
This experience left me quite speechless. Perhaps, most of my reactions and emotions stemmed from what I was feeling and doing at that point, rather than the actions.
Thoughts on the photo:
The lighting, though harsh, felt perfect. He felt like the perfect character for the photo. His checkered dark blue shirt. His white mask. His spectacles. His sleeping posture. Felt like a scene from a Japanese movie. He felt like the focus of the cabin. And the lack of passengers on the seats beside him completed the photo and experience.
